The HR team at South Essex College have been busy spreading Christmas cheer this week, working in collaboration with LT Support to support a local charity, Safe Steps at the Dove Project in Southend.

Over the past 6 months, our HR department have been collecting partner points through placements of agency staff with LT Support.  These points were redeemed to purchase festive goodies for donation.  Upon hearing of our idea, LT Support generously contributed an additional gift to strengthen the impact.

The donations were delivered today to the Safe Steps (Dove Project), ensuring that those in need feel the warmth of the season.  This collaboration highlights how small acts of teamwork can create meaningful change in our community.

Safe Steps (Dove Project) is a specialist domestic abuse support provider based in Southend. The charity builds on over 40 years of pioneering work by Southend Women’s Aid and SOS Domestic Abuse Projects.  From safe accommodation and crisis support to recovery programmes and counselling, they provide a lifeline to women, men, and children in our community. Their work helps survivors find safety, rebuild confidence, and step into a brighter future.

By partnering with LT Support and donating to Safe Steps, South Essex College HR has contributed to a cause that directly supports survivors of domestic abuse in our local community. This act of kindness not only spreads Christmas cheer but also reinforces our commitment to social responsibility and compassion.
