Why become a Supply Teacher?
The largest reason teachers give for becoming a Supply Teacher is “lifestyle choice” – to fit with family or personal circumstances or other work/study commitments – and those teachers who no longer want a permanent teaching job.
Benefits of Becoming a Supply Teacher:
- Flexibility – Daily, Short Term, Long Term contracts
- Weekly Pay – Every Friday
- Variety – You can work at numerous schools over a school year if you choose to, different locations, different cultures, different people, different students
- Training Opportunities – Tell us what training you would like to participate in
Are you treated differently to permanent staff?
With Agency Worker Regulations you are entitled to the same benefits as a permanent teacher.
AWR exists to ensure teachers are paid the National Rate after 12 weeks, however many agencies are choosing to ask Teachers to sign Derogation or “Pay Between Assignments” contracts which remove equal pay rights under the Agency Worker Regulations.
LT Support offer Day 1 rights to all our teachers and AWR after 12 weeks.
