QTS for Overseas Teachers expanding from 1st February 2023
Good news for more international teachers thinking of moving to England in the future to teach.
From the 1st February 2023, teachers from the following countries may become eligible for Qualified Teaching Status through a new professional recognition service, called ‘apply for qualified teacher status in England’, that will set consistent standards so the qualifications and experience of overseas teachers can be fairly assessed:
- Ghana
- Hong Kong
- India
- Jamaica
- Nigeria
- Singapore
- South Africa
- Ukraine
- Zimbabwe
It will eventually be open to qualified teachers from all countries outside the UK
